Mindful Minute: Impossible

Have you ever prayed for God to do the impossible?  How does one ask for something impossible to describe or imagine? Here’s a thought, if you pray for the impossible, doesn’t that reveal that you believe that with God nothing is impossible?  Scripture calls that mustard seed faith!

How can we learn to pray for the impossible? It helps by being reminded of what Jesus did and has done:

♦ Born of a virgin                                                    ♦ Turned the water into wine

♦ Healed the sick                                                    ♦ Raise the dead

♦ Still the storm                                                       ♦ Walked on water

♦ Paid for all our sin                                                ♦ Restored our relationship our Heavenly Father

♦ Made you his Beloved Child                                ♦ Calls us his Friend.

Be mindful that most of the impossible things Jesus did was for ordinary people, like you and me.

Ask God to develop mustard seed faith within you.  Let the following verses remind and encourage your faith.  Remember, with God, ALL things are possible, even the impossible!

“Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”   He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  Matthew 17:19-21

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

“Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27

“But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.Acts 2:24

“God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.” Hebrews 6:18

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.Hebrews 11:6

Give every impossible situation or relationship to the God who delightfully specializes in doing the impossible for you because He loves you that much!
