Wonder of All Wonders

Have you visited any of the natural wonders of the world? Some of these include; the Grand Canyon in the USA, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Harbor at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Mount Everest in Nepal, the Northern Lights in the Arctic Circle, the Paricutin Volcano in Mexico, or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Perhaps you’ve visited one of the world’s man-made wonders such as; Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil, Machu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza in Mexico, The Roman Colosseum in Italy, Taj Mahal in India, or Petra in Jordan.

What was it like trying to describe your experience to friends and family? Was it even possible to describe the grandeur and marvel you witnessed? Did your description include the feelings you felt standing in the presence of these breathtaking vistas?  Difficult, wasn’t it?  No matter how much you tried or how many times you shared your experience, words failed to do it justice.  Am I correct?

Now imagine that experience a billion times greater, filled with indescribable colors of light, overwhelming love, unimaginable beauty, magnificent sounds, emotions, and a profound, immeasurable presence.  That’s what it’s like to try to describe being in the presence of God.  So magnificent that a man’s sight nor his senses can comprehend what he is witnessing.  The sensory overload would kill the man.

Yet the Light of the World bestows upon all who follow Him, the light of life. “Jesus said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,’ John 8:12.

God gladly places through the Holy Spirit his unimaginable, indescribable presence within us.  God in us, the only true wonder of all wonders, abides in our hearts.  Through His Word, he ignites the light of life, his love, mercy, and grace within, transforming us each day into his image.

So how does it feel to have the only true wonder of this world abiding in your heart?  Immanuel, God with us, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Wonderful Counselor, Savior, Abba Father and Friend resides within each of us.  Isn’t that “WONDER-FULL”!
